Shipping and Returns

Shipping Policy

All Miss Maude's orders are packed and shipped via FedEx or UPS from our facility in Charlottesville, Virginia. Because chocolate is delicate, we ship everything to arrive within two days of carrier pick-up.

We never let your chocolate ride the weekend. If your order can't be delivered by Friday, we'll hold it and ship the following week so it doesn't sit on a hot truck over the weekend.

  • We ship nationwide, year-round
  • We use insulated packaging and gel packs for warm-weather destinations
  • We do not ship internationally or to PO Boxes
  • Free shipping on orders of $75 or more (adjust threshold as needed)

Tracking: Once your order ships, you'll receive an email with tracking information directly from the carrier.

No signature required. We ship without requiring a signature, so it's always best to ship to an address where someone will be available — a business address works great. The carrier's driver may choose to hold a package for re-delivery if they don't feel the location is secure. Once a package is delivered by the carrier, we cannot be held responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, or damaged.

Holiday Orders: The holidays are a busy time for chocolate makers! Please order well in advance and note your preferred delivery date in the comments at checkout. We'll do our best to accommodate.

Please verify your shipping address before placing your order. We are not responsible for delays or non-delivery resulting from incorrect or incomplete addresses.

Weather & Carrier Delays: Shipping times do not account for adverse weather or other carrier disruptions, including high package volume, mechanical issues, natural disasters, or carrier mis-scans. These are outside our control and we cannot be held responsible for resulting delays.


Returns & Refunds

At Miss Maude's, your satisfaction is our priority. We stand behind every bar we make — and if something isn't right, we want to make it right.

Damaged or Defective Products If your order arrives damaged or defective, please contact us right away at missmaude@barofchocolates.com or 434/972-9100 and we will gladly replace your order or issue a full refund.

Perishable Products Because our products are handcrafted food items, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges once products have left our facility. This policy is in place for the safety and quality of every order we ship.

Not Satisfied? If for any reason you're not happy with your purchase, please reach out within 30 days of receiving your order and we'll work with you to resolve it — whether that's a replacement, a refund, or an exchange. After 30 days, we are unable to offer a refund or exchange.
